She was a badminton player at the national championships while a teenager but gave her sporting career in order to become a model. Padukone is a native of Mangalore, India. Her mother tongue Konkani is her mother tongue. Padukone Village is located inside Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka in India.
